| Description: | Rosie and I woke up early and went to Alton Towers. This is the most amazing theme park I have ever been to. To all the Americans - imagine something like 6 flags or disneyland, and placed right in the middle of the park is a huge CASTLE. Not a fake Disney castle- but a "holy crap that is hundreds of years old and is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen" castle. And surrounding the castle is acres and acres of some of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. (Mind you my father is a horticulturist, and i have seen A LOT of gardens.) So apart from being one of the most beautiful places I have been in my life, they have ROLLERCOASTERS! What in the Hell! America totally needs to take a hint. Being able to go through the park and take a lunch break in the gardens, sleeping in the sun with no one around and miles of amazing views was so incredible I don't have the words to explain the feelings rushing through me. It made me realize how cheezy and commercial America can be. |
